Welcome to GDMenu Theme Manager for GDMenu v0.6

This application will allow you to create small custom themes to make your GDEMU unique to you.

Follow these steps in order to successfully create your theme.

1. Select an already existing theme i have provided which are accessible in the list on the right side of the application, You should see the preview window change showing you the custom theme then you would simply click the 'Import Theme' button.
Alternatively you can click the 'Import Theme' button and this will bring up a 'select a file' window and show you the custom themes within the 'Themes' folder and from there you would simply select a theme i have provided or you have created and placed in that directory and click open.

2. Once your theme is imported you can choose to select a custom font but this is not required if you wish to just use the default font, Otherwise you would select and import it just like you did with the custom theme.

3. Providing you didn't get a error message when importing your custom content letting you know the filesize(s) were too large you
can now just click save and either save it as the default 'NEW-THEME.BIN' or any name you wish however it is very important
you leave the file extension as .bin as step 5 won't work otherwise.

4. If you didn't receive a error message telling you the filesize(s) were too large then move on to step 5 otherwise all may not be lost however understand because of the nature in which the theme and font are injected into the GDMenu file they are limited in filesize, The font png needs to be at max 1.39KB ideally smaller if possible and the texture png needs to be at max 29.9KB again ideally smaller if possible.
This is hard to achieve especially with complex themes but not always impossible to do, That is where the 'Compress Image' button comes into play and all you need to do is click that button and select the custom png file you wish to compress and let it do it's magic but you may need to do this a few times to get to the required filesize. If you tried importing your custom png and got an error message saying it was to large then it will also give you an option to try to compress it there and then and you can simply repeat that process until successful but be aware it can only do so much and at a certain point it will not be able to compress it anymore and at that point you will simply have to alter you png file in some way to try to get around this.

5. Presuming at this point you have your custom theme imported and saved to a bin file, You are ready to go with the last step so simply click the 'Scramble' button and it should say it successfully scrambled the bin file and that should mean at this point you have created a custom 1ST_READ.BIN file and it should be located in the GDEMU_SD 1.10\data\files folder.
At this point you can close the theme manager application and with your GDEMU sd card inserted into your pc and navigate to the 'GDEMU_SD 1.10' folder and launch the 'GDEMU_SD.exe' application and select your sd card and you should see all your games load up, Now remove 'GDMENU' from the top of the list and click save and when it asks if you wish to customize your menu click yes and just click done and wait for it to finish and you're done, You can now eject your sd card and place it back in your dreamcast and you should see your new theme congratulations and enjoy.
